Engagement photos in Old Town Alexandria, starting at the waterfront and finishing off at one of the greatest ice cream shops I’ve ever had? Working with Mai and Matt was a treat-and not just because of the ice cream!
Despite some not-so-fun car trouble (folks, this is your reminder to check to make sure your jumper cables are functional), I met Mai and Matt at Chadwick’s Bar, near the Old Town Alexandria waterfront. Immediately, I loved chatting with the two of them. They were both incredibly funny and amazing storytellers.
Old Town Alexandria is a gorgeous location, both in general and for couples-we actually ended up passing by a wedding that was happening there! It’s got a little bit of everything: a beautiful waterfront with a sea breeze, cobblestones streets with an old colonial flair, and bold colors for the fans of vibrant backgrounds.
If you’re ever in the mood to shoot in Old Town, I’d highly recommend starting at Chadwick’s, hitting the waterfront first, then making your way over to Prince Street for the well-known cobblestone streets, making sure to get a few shots with the iconic houses on that street. After that, as you stroll through Old Town, grab some photos anywhere you think looks picturesque, and finish off your shoot at the fountain in the center of the town.
That’s exactly what I did with Mai and Matt, and the result could not be more stunning! I loved hearing about how they met and how the proposal went as we captured some Old Town Alexandria engagement photos. With the iconic Prince Street in the background, it’s no wonder these photos turned out as beautiful as I expected. Mai and Matt, I’m wishing you all the best for your marriage!
