When Sonia and Zach reached out asking to shoot an Old Town Alexandria engagement shoot, there was no way I could say no. As we met at the Old Town waterfront near Chadwick’s, I already knew we were going to get along great. All of that was confirmed to me the moment they mentioned they were from the Bay Area, just like I was, and had just moved to the DMV area!

Sonia and Zach were the perfect couple to shoot. Right from the beginning, you could see how much they loved each other, whether it was indulging my suggestions, putting out their own, or just plain enjoying their time hanging out with each other. I’ve never had a couple who made each other laugh more than these two, and as we walked the cobblestone streets of Old Town Alexandria, their humor was infectious.

The two of them met as they were working at the same company. While they joined around the same time, it took them a bit to actually hit it off. But once they did, the rest was history. I loved hearing their stories throughout their relationship. The proposal story was a riot, and it was incredibly interesting to hear how their trip to India to meet Sonia’s family went.

Side note: Sonia’s outfit was GORGEOUS. As someone with an Indian background myself, when my parents saw these photos on my Instagram and Facebook, my mom definitely had some words to say. And by words, I mean, “see, you should wear your Indian outfits more.” And honestly, after seeing Sonia’s beautiful outfit, I might have to agree.

I’m so happy with how this Old Town Alexandria engagement shoot turned out, and I hope Sonia and Zach are too. I’m wishing them both the best!
